Year 11 Module A - The Language of Power - Assessment Task

The assessment task for the current unit will take place in WEEK NINE of this term (June 22-26) and, because it will be a speaking task of some description, it will occupy many of the English periods that week. As your Module A unit is entitled "The Language of Power", you will be required to discuss the ways in which language is used as a method of controlling, shaping and manipulating people's behaviour/thoughts, not only as demonstrated in our set text, "Nineteen Eighty-Four", but also in various related texts of your own choosing which also illustrate some points about this.
